During our session, you'll hear prompts like, "Walk toward each other like you're meeting for your first date," "Whisper your favorite thing about them," "Spin them around," or "Dance like no one's watching." Instead of focusing on perfect poses, I'll guide you through movement and genuine interactions that bring out real laughter, authentic emotion, and natural connection. My goal is for your session to feel more like spending time together than standing in front of a camera.

What happens if the weather is unfavourable for an outdoor shoot?

If the weather is unfavorable (rain, strong wind, or unsafe conditions), the shoot will be rescheduled at no additional cost. I always prioritize safe and ideal shooting conditions to make sure you get the best possible results, and we’ll work together to find a new date that works for both of us.

Sessions more than 30 minutes from my residence in downtown Des Moines include a travel fee of $0.70 per mile (round trip).

This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?

For your first photoshoot, the biggest thing to know is that it’s completely normal to feel a little awkward at the start—most clients do, and it eases quickly once we begin moving and shooting. I’ll guide you through poses, prompts, and natural movement so you’re never guessing what to do. Just show up relaxed, wear something you feel confident in, and be open to having fun with it. The best photos usually come from real moments between the posing, not perfection.
